I’m off to give a talk tonight on personal branding to a group of 35 motivated and biz savvy women who wanted to know exactly what to do to build thriving global personal brands. I was asked to give this talk in a way that would be relevant to busy mompreneurs. In celebration of Mother’s Day, I was reminded that I had better keep it short, relevant and very simple to execute.

I just booked speaking engagements in several cities around the world over the next few months and my vision 10 years ago was indeed to have a thriving global brand. I am so inspired by people who have taken the plunge into entrepreneurship! So here are 10 steps if you too have set an intention to be sharing on a global scale:

1) Know who you are
Clarity is key and unless you want to be a hot mess running around in chaos, be clear on who you are. Your identity is key and the success of your brand depends on it. Not to say that you cannot go from being a nutrition expert to a celebrity life coach, but it’s important that you start with a clear message (especially when you’re just getting started). Who are you? Why does the world need you? Why now?

2) Know who you’re not
Be cautious not to get in the trap of trying to be everything. I am speaking from experience on this one. If you have an addiction (Like I did) to saying yes to everything, you’ll end up financially strapped, burned out and grumpy. The Art of Extreme Self Care was one of my rehab books for ‘Yes’ addicts.

3) Know where you’re going
This is everything. If you have a hunger for global success, you must be clear. It’s especially important that you dig deep and pull out that internal core power and have enough confidence in yourself to feel successful before you see the external results. Every great mentor I’ve had has already seen the destination before they even got started. Any visionary will tell you that your mental picture is with certainty on its way if you take consistent action. If you’re not clear on your destination, you may wake up in 10 yrs disappointed with where you’ve ended up. I’d prefer to be in the driver’s seat!

4) Set clear goals
My personal philosophy is that the mind loves the number 3. I have found that goal setting in 3’s is very powerful. Simple is better and gets the job done! Start with a 3 year vision statement (write out the juicy details of exactly where you want to be in three years). If you want to solidify this intention, create a picture map (or vision map) to go along with this 3 year plan. Once this is clear, write out 3 specific and measurable goals at the beginning of each year (1 should be your annual income). And finally, once your 3 annual goals are set, follow this up with setting 3 weekly goals each Sunday night. Don’t forget to write your goals down on paper. It absolutely makes a difference.

5) Create a tribe
The fabulous Seth Godin speaks in great detail about this in Tribes. Creating a global tribe or movement is so inspiring to me. Why does the world need you? Why now? What can you offer your tribe that they just cannot get anywhere else? Why are you worthy of a tribe? Who is your tribe? When creating a tribe, authenticity, generosity and wisdom must be given regularly. For many of my colleagues, the first step in creating a tribe committing to vulnerability. You don’t have to share the details of your life but it is a commitment to welcome the world into your life. It is important to share enough that your audience can get to know your personality. A tribe is built on trust. Your audience must feel safe with you.

6) Know your audience
9 years ago when I got started as a business owner, social media was not what it is today and traditional marketing around knowing your target market was key. I do believe that it is still important to be very clear on who your primary target market is (even writing up a clear description of this person, giving them a name and sharing the details of their behaviors). That being said, I also believe that you must be cautious not to narrow your market too much. With social media, you have an opportunity to visit and interact with the world and you just might want to be open to the fact that your brand and your offering just might suit a much different market in another country. All I’m saying is be clear on your market but be open to broadening your reach.

7) Make a Social Media BFF
If your strength is not social media, make friends with an expert. If you are outsourcing social media activities, I strongly encourage you not to get left behind by thinking you don’t have to know much about it. There are many activities that I suggest outsourcing but social media is one activity that I encourage you to get familiar with. Even if you don’t become an expert, learn how things work, the latest platforms and remember that truly only you can fuel your tribe and they want to hear from you. It’s great to have a support team but your energy and your words are what they want to hear. I’ve heard great things about Social Media University through selfgrowth.com

8) Leverage people and money
When was the last time you could take a sabbatical for a day, a week or a month without impacting your business results or bank account? My greatest mentors have taught me that the key principle to creating success and abundance is learning and understanding the concept of leverage. I was lucky enough to learn this concept in my twenties but it would have been so helpful to learn it in my teens! If you are just starting a business or a brand, set yourself up for great success early by implementing a leverage plan. Everyone talks about social media plans but leverage plans are just as critical to business success. Hire interns, Set a financial freedom date, go to type-A rehab, stop being a perfectionist and learn to outsource. Be clear on what your primary income streams are and be clear on what your maximum profit can be even working 24-7. Work the numbers to ensure that you aren’t signing up for a burnout business.

9) Become an expert
There are two great nutritionists I know who are creating incredible businesses and are extremely savvy in terms of the generous content they share. Cynthia Pasquella and Meghan Telpner. If you are passionate about nutrition, these are two great girls to follow. If you want to set yourself up as an expert, it is even more important to be crystal clear on what you are, and what you are not. Set up a 10 minute skype call with someone in your field who has achieved expert status and is already where you want to be. Interview them and find out what the big and bold insights are. I would also suggest blogging on blogs you dig and reaching out to blogs that are popular in other countries to make new friends abroad.

10)Pull in PR
If you do have a budget to gain some support from a PR expert or agent, this is absolutely a bonus if you find someone who is a perfect fit for you and has an amazing track record. If you don’t have much of a PR budget at the moment, there are great things you can do to pull in PR. Especially if you are clear what your expertise is and you are positioning yourself as an expert. I have found Linked-In to be an amazing platform for generating PR and connecting with media experts. Sharing great content and great insights via Linked-In is a must. One of my friends and former Oprah producer Natalie Mashaal reminded us a few weeks back at our NYC event that producers are looking for you. They have hundreds of spots to fill and if you are an expert and have wonderful content to share, there are so many opportunities. Leveraging Online Radio and TV shows, and get interviewed and share content through many online channels.

I have set a goal today of meeting 3 new inspiring entrepreneurs in Paris today! Where are you inspired to grow your biz?

My good friend Victoria Bailey and I co-hosted Wealthylicious NYC last night at Soho house and it inspired me to share some goodness on why I think NYC women biz owners are so hot. There is something about the energy here in NYC that makes you want to bust it out. It’s my belief that NYC is the most delicious city in the world to develop rock solid self-esteem. You are surrounded great people, great places and great possibility. Over a glass of wine last night at Trump Soho, my friend Jaclyn voiced that she too is drawn to move here. So what is it about female biz owners in NYC that is just so appealing?

They ooze confidence- NYC gals have no time to question how solid their self-esteem is. They’re too busy creating, networking, inspiring and achieving. They don’t have time to waste over-thinking. They’re bold, beautiful and leap into greatness.

They ask for help- NYC gals have no fear when it comes to asking for help and asking for what they truly desire. They’re clearly solution focused and resourceful and make it a priority to find the people that can help them achieve their dreams. Who do you know that can help you take your business to the next level? Re-connect with someone today who can help you achieve greatness.

They are always in action- I completely relate to the dynamic energy in NYC that makes you want to be in action. Being productive (sometimes at a fault) is the game here in NYC. If you spend time sitting around hoping something will land at your feet, NYC is not the place for you. My early morning Starbucks line-up was a brilliant reminder of this in the city where multi-tasking was invented.

They detox while they work- One of my favorite things about NYC is that I can be sure to find a great Soho Hotel that is steps away from great yoga, fitness and a juice bar. It’s so easy to keep your day flowing with happy cells when you can detoxify while you work. Yes being in Bali would surely be more blissful for the lungs, but if you are creating and building a global empire, NYC has everything you need at your fingertips. I picked Trump Soho on this trip and enjoyed a Hammam Spa, yoga and juicing while prepping for my event.

They hang with hotties- Just check out sites like Marie Forleo and Danielle LaPorte. The girls here in NYC know how to collaborate and support each other. They are often found hanging out together socially and cooking up some great programs, books and live web summits on the side. They get things done, share their wisdom and share the love with those around them. I am reminded of how important it is to do a check in to make sure you are surrounded by the right people who lift you up.

They want bigger- Thinking big is the norm in NYC. What you might think as too big, they would consider too small. Spend a week at a few biz events in NYC and you are guaranteed to leave feeling inspired to dig deeper, dream bigger and inspire the world around you.

They are social media junkies- I had the pleasure on being on Fox News a few years back and 4 girls in the media room were sharing how much they get paid to tweet. What? I was even more blown away by the fact that they all had over 10,000 twitter followers. I will share more on this in a future discussion!

They are media savvy- Former Oprah producer Natalie Mashaal spoke at our event last night and reminded us that producers are looking for you! If you know your stuff and have a passion for sharing juicy wisdom, television is calling your name.

Off to find some sweet finds on Bleecker St! I’m taking notes on keeping this NYC energy alive when back in TO.

She makes light of the situation in her book but truthfully, learning how to step into your money power and creating financial independence for yourself does wonders for your self-esteem. I truly believe that nothing strengthens your core power and self-confidence like learning how money works and how to make and manage money.

I went through a divorce in my twenties and although I had always been very independent, I must admit that I worried about making it on my own. So many of my friends enjoyed two household incomes, and I was about to embark on a solo money life. Would I make it? In my first few months of my single chapter, I had those nagging self-sabotaging thoughts that I could fail, that perhaps I would make unwise money decisions and that I might not manage my money wisely. Instead of living in that place, I decided to sell everything, take a 3 month sabbatical and gracefully dive into my new solo life with confidence and belief that all would be well.

There is nothing more blissful than going through an experience in your life that teaches you to believe in yourself and that you can create anything you seek. I am grateful for every journey in my life thus far and now can add ‘I confidently embrace my money journey’ to my list of adventures. If you have those sneaky yet powerful fears that you can’t manage money without your man/woman, be bold and get your butt into gear today to make embracing money your priority. If you are avoiding learning about money and think you’re good but your bank account is telling you otherwise, here are 5 sure tale signs that you are relying on a sugar partner:

1) You have no clue what your net worth is. If you’re not sure how, get someone saavy to help you out but basically, you should know your total assets and your total liabilities. Don’t exclude a credit card or two because you are afraid to face the numbers. This is the absolute most important step to getting your money sh%t together! If you don’t know your net worth…yikes!

2) You have no clue where your money goes. When you get your statements, the ins and outs are so wild and crazy that a financial expert would freak. Debit cards, credit cards, paypal, online transactions…oh my! There are so many ways to move money today that if you don’t have a handle on your cash and yourself, you will get lost in cyberspace and so will your money.

3) You actually believe wants are needs. To you, whatever you want is a necessity and you just have to have that bag. You don’t recognize that money is energy and you are hemorrhaging it all over the shopping mall. Get a hold of yourself and learn to discipline those attachment issues.

4) You heart pounds at the thought of being in charge of the money. If you were responsible for managing, making and investing the money in your household, you’d secretly tremble inside. If no one has believed in you enough to recognize that being responsible for managing money is a core leadership principle. Your self-confidence is directly linked to how you can manage money and your relationship to money. Make a commitment to yourself today that even if you don’t have to, you are setting an intention to learn how money works. Thank you mom for believing in me at a young age and teaching me how to manage money!

5) Everything you know about money you actually did learn in kindergarten. Make this year your year. Create your very own money university program and get busy learning. Read books, listen to audios, attend seminars and learn all you can about becoming a money master.

6) You are dating your comfort zone. Comfort zones may feel good but they certainly don’t challenge you to be better, dream bigger and impact the world. If you aren’t moving forward, you just might be moving backwards. Those who get ahead in life challenge themselves to live outside their comfort zone. Be honest with yourself and challenge yourself to be the most magnificent and extraordinary version of you.

I believe in you! Now go out there and get pumped about your money!

I have this eternal admiration for so many of my cyber pals and authors who radiate self-confidence, love and success through my computer screen. This leadership posture is not by chance, it is by absolute choice. When I started my entrepreneurial venture 8 years ago, I was blessed to have the most amazing mentors to guide me. My intention today is to share some key insights with you in hopes that you will be pumped to rock your biz and your life and live boldly every day!

I like to think of it as a daily leadership recipe. But with this recipe, I encourage and invite extra ingredients such as magnetic energy, optimal health and a million TBSP’s of creativity.

When following this recipe, the foundation is a commitment to think like all abundant and successful people do- To act as if it were impossible to fail. Life is simply more peaceful, zen and happy when you live each day this way. The universe has your back so why not leave your stressing and fears behind and save that beautiful blissful energy for creating your most amazing life.

Step 1- Be honest with yourself. How solid is your self-confidence? Love yourself, live bodly and jump into life. Step into your power and posture and stop living small. Commit to confidence today.

Step 2- Create your 1-2 page delicious 2-year intention map. This is truly the lifestyle, income and juicy things that are on their way to you. The secret ingredient that all successful people add to their success recipe is writing down where they intend to be. They don’t leave their life to chance, they create based on their passions, their gifts and their intentions. Write out your 2 year intention map today (date this page 2 years from today and write in the present tense). What income will you be earning 2 years from today? Where will you be living? How does your day start each day? Do you live on the ocean? Do you live a travel lifestyle? Do you go on 10 trips a year? Be clear on what lifestyle you want 2 years from today. This will help you ensure you have the appropriate income vehicle(s) to get you there.

Step 3-Surround yourself with abundant, extraordinary and inspiring people. Be true to who you are and be very honest with yourself. Spend your time with people who make you hyper with excitement and inspire you to be better. I want to emphasize here to be cautious though that you don’t fall in the competitive trap in an unhealthy way. It is very easy to let your ego take over and start a conversation your mind ‘look what she’s doing’, ‘I should be there already’, ‘Why am I not as ahead as he is?’. Take good notes on these mental conversations. Beware! A little competition is good to keep you living outside your comfort zone but if it makes you feel tense and stressed, stop comparing yourself. Be you and be the best you! You are exactly where you are supposed to be. Be present!

Step 4- Create space for the abundance you seek. If your life is filled with clutter, junk and stress that is not aligned with where you want to be, you will remain stuck. Commit today to create space in your life for the new peace, new income, and new abundance you know is on its way. Last week, my fiancé and I sold a boat, a house and a car to make space for the global travel we are doing this year. We are free spirits and thrive when we feel light, spacious and free.

Step 5- Motivate yourself. For those who are truly committed to leadership, self-motivation is key. Speak, write, connect, create and engage in all the activities that make you feel amazing and inspired. For the occasional days where motivation is lacking, rely on resources and mentors you love to inspire you!

Step 6- Take great care of yourself. This is magic. Health is your greatest asset and if you don’t take extra special care of it, what’s the point of success. I remind myself each morning that I am truly grateful for health and it is my top priority. I created a simple program if you’re inspired to get started on delicious optimal health journey

I was interviewed a few years ago about creating wealth in one’s life and the guy interviewing me laughed at the idea that wealth could be created in 30 days. What if it was a possibility? We limit ourselves based on habits, subconscious beliefs and influences throughout our lives, but can you say with certainty that you could not create wealth for yourself in a month? I’m not here to answer this but to explore the idea that it could be possible for you. One of my favorite quotes from my favorite audio recordings The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale explains that ‘The human mind is the last great unexplored continent on earth. It contains riches beyond our wildest dreams. It will return anything we want to plant’.

When I was 29, I struggled to figure out why I didn’t have more money in my bank account after wrapping up two degrees (one of them being an MBA in financial accounting) and spending almost a decade working for fortune 500 companies. There was always too much month at the end of the money and I was working my butt off every day but just couldn’t seem to get ahead. Instead of focusing on excuses, I sought out to figure out what pieces of the money puzzle were missing for me and got busy finding the solution to my money madness. I read books, interviewed admirable wealthy people and the common message was that creating wealth starts in the mind. If you are focused on debt, paying off debt, and words that are associated with a lack of money, you are focused on keeping that money problem alive. So let’s commit to helping others stop the cash crisis and move into blissful abundance.

I am sitting here in my zenscape home just outside of Toronto feeling bliss and gratitude for a chance to share with you. I highly support a beautiful program called ‘The Desire Map’ by Danielle LaPorte to explore the inner chambers of the mind and soul and am grateful for the people and tools that are available to all of us who seek a more abundant and juicy life. I sweetly journal some of my favorite tips in hopes that they may help any of you who are reading this article today live a more abundant life. I’m sharing my favorite 10 tips for you today but am so happy to give you the full program free of charge. Send me an email and I’m happy to send the first 50 people a free copy of my book 30 Days to Wealth. My email address is info@healthygirl.net and simply enter ‘please send me your book’ in the subject line.

Tip 1- Create your very own wealth affirmation that you read daily. One that I use is “I am joyfully and divinely grateful for the beautiful prosperity and abundance that surrounds me every day. I always give more than I ask for and am rewarded with prosperity in all forms”.

Tip 2- Detox your Life. If your life is full of chaos, stuff and thoughts that are not aligned with abundance and joy, you have no room for wealth. Get rid of clutter and crap that isn’t serving you.

Tip 3- Be clear about your vision. Attracting what you want happens much faster when you are clear. It is so important that you are emotionally attached to your vision. When you read it, it should make you smile, tear up and even get you hyper!

Tip 4- Say no to the good and yes to the great. For women especially, we tend to say yes too quickly to too many things. It is very easy for our entire lives to be filled with things that are not aligned with what we truly want.

Tip 5- Know your Net Worth. This is the one single exercise that will change your income. Even if you are afraid to do this, create a list of your assets and expenses/liabilities. Subtract your liabilities from your assets and you’ll have a quick version of your net worth. A financial advisor can help you create a more detailed and accurate net worth statement. If you are afraid to do this exercise, it is absolutely a must that you do it asap. It will change your life.

Tip 6- Money can’t talk but it can hear. Identify 5 common habits or phrases that are regular or repetitive for you. You must act as if you have money from your vocabulary to your posture.

Tip 7- Seek a millionaire mentor. Often people seek help from those who are in the same situation as them because it is comfortable. Learn from those who are where you want to be. Hire them, read their books, listen to their audios.

Tip 8- Cash Flow is Queen. The most important thing you can do for yourself is to be clear on how much cash you need each week to cover your expenses and live. It’s great to have assets but if you are always short on cash, it plays with your mindset and your thinking. Overdraft is not income!

Tip 9- Read Women and Money by Suze Orman. This book taught me simple steps you can apply today that will change your finances and get you on the wealth path.

Tip 10- Set your financial freedom date. Mine was Sept 12, 2010! Put it in your calendar today! Start dreaming and creating your beautiful and zen life.

I leave you with my love, energy and gratitude and hope you have found some of these info helpful in some way. I look forward to sharing more with you so stay tuned!

Thanks to those of you who are in my life that help me stay accountable to things I commit to! I am not always a detail person (yes…I know…) and as you can see..I got so excited about the past few weeks that I forgot to blog post my updates. So, thank you for holding me accountable and I decided how fun it would be to offer a wrap up from the past 3 weeks. There are just too many great things to share!

First and foremost, I am just so grateful and inspired by Alicia Dunams, Karen Roy, Kim Hasselman, Krista Sloan, Linda Roy and Rima Maamari for supporting my journey to hitting the amazon best-seller list for 2 categories. What a wild and crazy ride and so much to share for those of you who want to self-publish a book:
1) Consider contacting Karen and Alicia to get you on the right path!!!
2) I just found out about Balboa Press (a division of Hay House) for self-publishing. Wow!
3) Get hyper and excited about your book!
4) Do a video to launch your book
5) Learn what a squeeze page is (Thanks Alicia!!!)
6) Rock it on twitter, facebook, linked-in and youtube. Check out Tracy Matthewman’s Site for Coaching Options.
7) Register for HootSuite and Nutshell to help organize your social media life during the launch
8) Have an amazing team to support you and hold you accountable
9) Celebrate your launch with a dinner party!
10) Have Alicia teach you about live video chatting on your 1-day Campaign
11) Absolutely do a fun 1-Day Campaign! You will learn so much!

So, yes…we did it! Thank you to all of you who supported my journey! Now back to my 365-Days of Health…

It’s actually sort of wild and crazy how self-aware I’ve become of my habits, mindset and ways. It actually becomes quite humourous when you are truly aware of your habits that you are frustrated but can smile about it. I will admit that over the past few weeks, I’ve jumped into my old ways of packing too many things into a day. My ability to produce has taken over my body…eek! I had a fabulous dinner with my friends Tracy and Stuart this week (and two of the most influential mentors I’ve had). Stuart shared a great story about being in Japan and walking down a set of stairs while drinking orange juice. He didn’t realize that he had broken a fundamental zen principle by drinking and walking. A simple reminder to practice daily zen principles. This story has helped me stay mindful over the past 24 hours to not walk and text, talk and text, email and talk, email and text….aaaah! Seriously…Who is controlling you? Is Technology your master?

My highlights from the past few weeks:
1) It’s fun to challenge yourself to be as healthy as possible over the holidays!
2) My many visits to www.elementaltherapies.ca to keep me healthy over the holidays
3) I just LOVE Avocado Oil!
4) The best Digestive Enzymes on the planet help keep your body smiling over the holidays!
5) Avoid Retail during the weekends and evenings if you can in December!
6) Take the next 3 Days to drink as much water as you can to get that skin beautiful and body glowing
7) Create your magical recipe for 2011. What will you be cooking up? 3 Key Goals is my philosophy!
8) What makes your heart sing? Yoga, Dance, Friends and Family, Pets, Music, Creativity? Do it daily!
9) Supplement with Vitamin D during the holidays to get some internal sunshine for the body, mind and soul
10) Check out Laura Hollick’s beautiful website and programs at Soul Art Studio
11) Check out Kate’s most amazing Blog Ever http://katemoller.com/glimpsetv/. Her road trip starts in 2011!

And leaving you with a great interview with Bindu Wiles on Glimpse TV with Kate Northrup-Moller. Just signed up for Bindu’s newsletter!

How many bras do we really need? and other thoughts on letting go: Glimpse TV with Bindu Wiles from Kate Moller on Vimeo.

This is a fun week! I’m writing today as my 24-Hour book launch campaign goes live. It’s so out of my comfort zone to be doing a ‘me’ campaign but I have been challenged today to put myself out there and talk about my book online everywhere all day today. Yikes! My book 30 Days to Wealth has been such a fun journey as I wrote my experiences and strategies over my first few years in business as a new entrepreneur. The book shares a 30 Day Program to improving cash flow, success and wellness. I stayed up last night until 1am with my amazing friend and online guru Alicia Dunams to do our video. Alicia is an amazon best-seller, mother, entrepreneur, social media guru, speaker and just so much more. She also taught me about squeeze pages and twitter handles?! The cool thing is that I found out about her years ago when she was doing an online twitter book launch party for a friend of hers. Here we are today doing one for 30 Days to Wealth. So cool how the universe works. Here’s a peak at the video we did last night. If you’re reading this post today (Dec 8), we’re having an online book party which you can join at: http://www.thirtydaystowealth.com/stocking/Â

Back to Week #4… I thought it would be a great fit this week to share some of my personal thoughts on the link between wellness and wealth. One of the most exciting things about being an entrepreneur and learning how to build financial independance is the concept of time freedom. What drives me more than money is freedom. Imagine if you could wake up and just choose to do nothing but watch movies, hang out with your family and play all day any day? I wouldn’t even consider the concept as it was so foreign to me 5 years ago. We are programed not to imagine and this is just not right. A beautiful read that helped me re-connect with the visionary process and creative thinking is Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain (www.shaktigawain.com). My personal message to myself this week is a quote I wrote down 3 years ago in the back of my book ‘Stop being driven and be carried’ -Vernon Howard. Mystic Path to Cosmic Power…hot book! This one challenges me daily but it is a beautiful reminder to live in the Tao. It is my personal belief that there is a direct correlation between sustained business growth, success and wellness. Self-Care is where it’s at ladies and if you’re in business for yourself it is absolutely essential! Plan a daily self-care ritual, put a great wellness team in place to support you and have a checklist for those days when you fall off the wellness wagon. Entrepreneurship is a wild and crazy ride but so so worth it! My beautiful friend and colleague Michelle Froats (www.michellefroats.com) is running a 4-Week Self Care Telecourse that I cannot wait for. It’s starts in January so it’s a perfect gift to yourself for Christmas.

Finally for this week, my two key words of the week are Deepak and Vitamix. The first book I read by Deepak and still my favorite is Book of Secrets.  I saw Deepak Chopra (www.chopra.com) speak this week in Toronto and he shared that 80% of people don’t like what they do for a living (how sad is this?). I do think people are waking up though and shutting off that autopilot button like I did 5 years ago. Deepak also linked consciousness, energy and spirituality with health. I recently asked my friend, nutritionist, and biz partner Katie Compton (www.kateandthekitchen.com) if she would suggest juicing or blending (using a vitamix). A great debate and question! Katie suggested blending to increase your fiber intake from the flesh of the fruits and veggies. Although juicing is amazing for digestion and for health, it does increase the sugar and glycemic index vs blending. I spent a few hours this week trying to find a vitamix (www.vitamix.com) at retail with no success. As much as I love online shopping, sometimes instant gratification is still more fun!

My sweet brother reads my blog and asked me why I don’t talk about my favorite twin brothers?…Well Rich, this one’s for you…

Yes, I have twin brothers who have the sweetest children on the planet. I’m so grateful to be living in the same city as them and it keeps me grounded to have some sweet children to play with. I think my brothers would say I’m a little bit of a ‘funny bird’ with my hemp seeds, morning shakes, vitamins and greens but they secretly love it!

This week, alongside my health program, I also enjoyed another week of great music. Rich’s recommended tune is Pearl Jam’s ‘Off he Goes’ (Like it Rich!). I enjoyed Melody Gardot (www.melodygardot.com) and Damien Rice (www.damienrice.com) this week and spent some quality time with Jazz FM (one of my favorite Toronto Stations). I am also excited for my orchestra seat tickets to Sarah McLauchlan in March 2011!

Here are my highlights from Healthy Week #3:

1) Recognized how easy it is for Technology to run your life! Boundaries have been re-established and I remind myself that I am not a robot. I graciously remind myself several times per day that life without technology would be sweet for a day or two. I commit to 1 full day without technology this week. I also keep my cell phone on silent most of the time which gives me a sense of inner-peace. Yes, there are entrepreneurs out there who keep their cell pones on silent!~

2) Booked a private consult with Sonia Choquette (www.trustyourvibes.com). I’ve heard wonderful things about her and her courses and want to experience a private consult with her. Didn’t event realize you could do this on her website. So, it’s booked for next week! I’ve enjoyed 2 of Sonia’s books and have been drawn to learning more about creating a powerful connection with one’s intuitive nature which often gets blocked. This is a topic that I will continue to write and speak about moving forward.

3) Re-read a few chapter’s of one of my favorite books ‘The Mystic Path to Cosmic Power’ by Vernon Howard. This book was recommended to me by Bob Proctor. It is a book that few have heard about and it’s not even on amazon.com but can be ordered off of Vernon Howard’s website www.anewlife.org

4) Enjoyed reading a sweet and fun blog entry by my beautiful friend Michelle Froats about some of her favorite relationship books. She has a wonderful blog (www.michellefroats.com).

5) Made a yummy veggie stirfry a few times this week (see below for recipe).

6) Scheduled a great event for women entrepreneurs. I am a part of a very special seminar called ‘Wealthylicious’ which has been touring Canada and the US. Our mandate is to teach women about residual income, rental properties, direct selling and easy things they can do to jump in the drivers seat for their finances. Our Wealthylicious San Fransisco is booked for March 9, 2011. Details to follow. My beautiful biz partners Christa MacLellan, Alicia Dunams, and Britt Michaelian will be co-hosting with me. Check out their blogs! They are authors, moms, coaches and experts in their fields.

7) Walked every morning for 90 minutes on the waterfront. This is one of my favorite daily activites. Granted, I made the mistake of bringing my cell phone with me three times. Why am I such a slow learning? Bringing technology with you for gratitude and meditative walks in nature is just wrong. Note to self- you can do it!

8) Said NO 3 times this week. This is empowering from a recovering ‘YES’ addict. I know I’m not alone! Michelle challenged several of us this week to have a day where you give yourself permission to disappoint others. This was an exercise suggested to her by Cheryl Richardson and is a great challenge for us ‘YES’ gals. I do well for a few weeks and then fall back but I am being patient and kind to myself. I am improving every week and am learning to set boundaries and being comfortable saying NO. Cheryl (www.cherylrichardson.com) also recommends making a habit of saying ‘let me check with my schedule and I’ll get back to you tomorrow to confirm’. This has been a great suggestion for me.

What I realized this week was that when I am negotiating my personal boundaries and energy, I get frustrated, stressed and angry. The good news is that I pick up on this within a day or two and quickly recognize that I’m ‘pimping’ my energy. My recipe to focus on the solution to this has been the following:
1) Stop in your tracks and recognize what you’re doing
2) Have a friend or two (but not 5) that you chat about this with. Get it out of your body and move on
3) Don’t be a drama queen
4) Go to a yoga class, get a massage and/or meditate
5) Be kind to yourself and patient with yourself.
6) Reduce your addiction to technology. It can steal the life out of you and probably already has!

Week 3 Veggie Stirfry:
1) Mixed Veggies (colourful and just load them up!)
2) Some Bragg’s (just a few dashes)
When your veggies are cooked up, put them in the oven with goat cheese and hemp seeds for a few minutes! Yummy!

For those of you who I’ve spoken to over the past week, living and working Tao centered leadership is what I strive for. Day by day, I am reminded of 1 verse of the Tao Te Ching before I go to bed. A great resource to learn about the 81 verses of the Tao is Wayne Dyer’s ‘Change your Thoughts, Change your Mind- Living the wisdom of the Tao’.

I have to admit…I’m loving the album ‘Dreaming out Loud’ by OneRepublic (www.onerepublic.net)! A great find and keeping me inspired over the past week. My favorite tune is ‘Say’. Have you ever lost touch with one of your biggest passions? Music has always been a big part of my life since I started piano lessons at the age of 5. I am also instantly chilled out by KD Lang’s ‘HYMNS OF THE 49TH PARALLEL’ (www.kdlang.com). On another music note, I’m so excited to hear that Sarah Slean (www.sarahslean.com) has a holiday season VIP package to her Toronto concert. Just got my tickets!

On the wellbeing front last week, I did indeed take a few steps back but a big leap forward! I love my business so much that I often get so hyper and excited that managing my energy takes a back seat. Thank goodness for yoga, meditation and my morning walks on the waterfront! My nutrition slipped a little this week as the carbs sort of got the best of me but I am so happy that I’m not seeking perfection! I’m just happy that I work a little bit each day to be better than the day before. If I happen to go for the DQ Blizzard…oh well! Life wouldn’t be as fun without some yummy treats once and a while! So, in spite a few days without optimal clean eating, here are my beautiful highlights from Week 2:

1) Ordered tickets to see Deepak Chopra on Dec 3 in Toronto with my pal Anne (www.elementaltherapies.ca)
2) Got myself some sweet front row seats to Sarah Slean’s Christmas Concert (www.sarahslean.com)
3) Read ‘The Rose Cleans’ e-book by Natalia Rose (available to download on her site) (www.detoxtheworld.com)
4) Ate my favorite big green salads 3 times this week (I admit the greens were lacking a little this week!)
5) Made some yummy Grilled Veggie and Goat Cheese Wraps (see recipe below)
6) Enjoyed speaking and launching www.thirtydaystowealth.com (coaching program starts Jan 6!)
7) Got a new amazing energy female Doctor (has been on my goal list for 2 yrs now). Check!!!
8) Got a massage (I get them weekly). This is absolutely part of my maintenance program! Non-negotiable!
9) Signed up for Ballet Classes for January (also on my hit list for years!).
10) Reading ‘Quantum Wellness’ by Deepak Chopra (www.deepakchopra.com). Cool website by the way! Pg 150 rocks!
11) Eating some New Sun Sugar Reduced High Fiber Raisin Bran Cookies (www.newsuncookies.com)
12) Drank lots of water with highly concentrated chlorophyll (available at www.wholefoods.com)
13) Took my probiotics (same brand recommended by Dr Christiane Northrup www.drnorthrup.com)

My Grilled Veggie and Goat Cheese Wraps:
1-2 High Fiber or Ezekiel Wraps (warm up your wraps in the oven)
Big Bowl of Grilled Colourful Veggies (I add a little Brag’s)
Black Bean and Corn Organic Salsa
Organic Baby Spinach
Organic Hummus
Soft Goat Cheese (I didn’t buy raw goat cheese but you can!)

I made my wraps and then put them in the over for a few minutes so the goat cheese melts! So yummy!!

Last week, I decided to embark on a ’365 Days of Wellness Journey’. I recently turned 35 and I am even more conscious of the importance of taking good care of ourselves. After travelling for 3 weeks and being in 3 different time zones, I was so eager to feel grounded, healthy and organized. For me, feeling grounded is most important. I am easily inspired and excited and sometimes find it challenging to manage excess energy.

For any of you that get a little hyper from time to time, you can likely relate. The best advice I can give for those eager, driven and ambitious people out there would be to do your very best to stay grounded. This can include daily rituals, some daily routines that keep you feeling calm and collected. Often, too much travel can make you feel in outer space when it comes to your energy and mind.

Getting back to Week #1 (here are some highlights):
-90 min Hot Yoga 3 times last week
-Chakra Meditation for 10 minutes morning and night (2 days…I’m easing my way into this)
-Had colon hydrotherapy with my favorite healing arts specials (Anne from www.elementaltherapies.ca)
-Read ‘Trust your Vibes’ by Sonia Choquette (www.trustyourvibes.com)
-Took my morning multivitamins and omegas ( I also take a digestive enzyme and probiotic)
-Drank 3L of Water per day (often added liquid concentrated chlorophyl)
-Stayed away from refined sugar (I did eat some yummy kamut gingerbread loaf from www.vegehut.com)
-Walked for 90 minutes 4 days this week on the water (so great to get you grounded!)
-Had an energy and etheric healing phone consult with Kathy Roseborough (www.schoolofetherichealing.com)
-Scheduled an hour for personal time and relaxation when I woke up each morning
-Listened to Chakra Balancing Music (my favorite is the one by Stevin McNamara and Caroline Myss)
-Ate a huge Green Salad with kale, spinach, sprouts and more each day (see below)
-Had my morning smoothie each morning (see below)
-Had 8 hours of sleep per night (to catch up from all the time zones I was in)
-Had a bubble bath every day with candles, organic lavender oils and Sleep Soak (www.janeincproducts.com)
-launched my book ’30 Days to Wealth’ on amazon.com (www.thirtydaystowealth.com)

My morning smoothie-
2 scoops of Vanilla Nutrimeal or vanilla hemp/rice protein powder
1/2 of a small avocado
1 pack of stevia
5 organic strawberries
tbsp of spirulina powder
alkaline or reverse osmosis water
ice (if you wish)

My Daily Big Salad
bowl full of baby organic spinach
sunflower sprouts
dried kale chips crushed up (www.twogirlscooking.com)
crushed walnuts
organic cucumber
organic celery
shredded organic beets (optional)
1/4 cup of cooked quinoa (optional)
hemp seeds
soft goat cheese
fresh herbs

dressing- mixture of your favorite omega oil and apple cider/organic balsamic vinegar or lemon juice (I love avocodo oil and optomega oil).

Â

Â

Â

The biggest success this past week was not feeling attached to results. I actually gave myself permission to go with the flow and not freak out if I jumped into old habits. I had fun with it and became excited to challenge myself to do the very best I could but to be kind to myself. It should be a fun and healthy adventure. If you’re stressing yourself out into a panic because tomorrow is Day #20 of your crazy insane herb and juice cleanse…stop! Life is short and you should so enjoy the ride! I realized this past week that music is truly my passion and so it was my favorite companion during my daily hikes. It made me so excited to walk every day just to listen to my favorite music! Gotta love ipods!

Peace,
Leanne x

Â

Â

Â
